NSW: Businesses face experince drain as employees retire

SYDNEY, Jan 16 AAP - NSW businesses are failing to fully harness the knowledge of theirsenior workers to pass down the corporate ladder, according to a survey by the State Chamberof Commerce.

The Workplace Trends Survey has found only five per cent of businesses actively tryto learn from their retiring employees.

"With our ageing population, managing, valuing and capitalising on the wisdom and skillsof older workers has to be a priority for business," the chamber's chief executive officer,Margy Osmond said.
