SA: Bid for pizza eating record

ADELAIDE, Feb 13 AAP - Ten Adelaide University students will bid for a place in the
Guinness Book of Records next week for eating pizza.

Organisers Pizza Haven said today it would produce 100 pizzas for the day and each
of the students would have 30 minutes to eat as many as possible.

The record attempt is part of the university's orientation week program.

The students are expected to chew through 45 kilograms of dough, 10 kilograms of tomatoes,
three kilograms of olives and 10 kilograms of cheese.

Pizza Haven hopes the winner will score a place in the record books.

"The Guinness Book of Records currently has records for the largest pizza, largest
pizza commercially available, largest pizza order and the largest pizza delivery," said
Pizza Haven group brand manager Simon Burley.

"However, there isn't actually a world record for eating pizza so the competition will
actually create a world first."
